Former CFO questioned again by MACC over RM370mil plantation share acquisition probe

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Wednesday (Aug 5) continued recording the statement of a former chief financial officer (CFO) of a company owned by a statutory body as part of its investigation into the alleged abuse of power involving the acquisition of shares in two plantation companies worth about RM370mil.

The statement recording session was conducted at the MACC headquarters here and lasted for more than six hours.

However, only the former CFO turned up for the session, while the former CEO was absent due to health reasons.

MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the former senior executive arrived at the commission's headquarters at about 10.30am.

"Today marks the second day of recording the individual's statement after he was released yesterday.

"The statement recording is being continued to complete investigations following findings contained in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Tabung Haji. The session concluded at about 5pm," he said.

Abd Halim added that the statement recording would continue again at 10am on Thursday (Aug 6) as investigators work to complete the probe.
