SEREMBAN: The full Tabung Haji inquiry report will be released with nothing left out, and those responsible must be charged, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
The Prime Minister said the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji would be published together with its recommendations and the processes behind it.
He said the Cabinet also wanted the inquiry's scope widened beyond its original period.
"We will publish the entire report, recommendations and the processes that took place," he said after Friday prayers at a mosque in Paroi here.
"We want to know precisely what happened afterwards and the measures taken by the various committees, including the present Tabung Haji board."
He said no part of the report would be removed.
"We will not cut out any aspect of the report," he said.
Anwar said the report centred on the period up to 2014, when Bank Negara Malaysia first issued a warning, followed by another in 2017.
He said he had asked that the inquiry not stop at 2017 so that later developments could be examined.
"Do not close it off at 2017. I think it is better this way," he said.
"Muslims and Malaysians should be given the chance to see everything."
Anwar said the release was meant to serve as a lesson.
"This time, let us not pretend," he said.
He said those found responsible had to face action.
"Those responsible must be investigated and charged," he said.
The Cabinet agreed to declassify the report on Wednesday. It is to be tabled at a special sitting of Parliament on Aug 11.
