PETALING JAYA: Bersatu Youth Chief Information Officer Harris Idaham Rashid demands immediate law enforcement action following Royal Commission of Inquiry findings revealing systematic financial manipulation at Lembaga Tabung Haji.
Harris, in a statement on Thursday (July 30), said that the 211-page Royal Commission of Inquiry report details governance failures at Lembaga Tabung Haji between 2014 and 2020.
He said that the findings confirm systemic misconduct occurred.
Haris pointed out that the report reveals the 2017 management reported a false RM3.4bil profit despite experiencing a RM1.4bil deficit.
He added that it also details unlawful dividend payouts from 2014 to 2017 that violated Section 22 of the Tabung Haji Act 1995. Management approved staff bonuses between two and 13 months' salary despite severe liquidity crises.
“Bersatu Youth urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police to prosecute responsible parties without compromise,” said Harris.
The group commended the government for declassifying and releasing the report to the public.
