JOHOR BARU: It was an unlikely tag team of wrestling and history when World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Famer Rikishi and former WWE superstar Chavo Guerrero Jr stepped out of the ring and into Muzium Tokoh Johor to discover the stories behind some of the state’s most notable personalities.
The pro-wrestling legends, accompanied by their wives, toured the museum dedicated to preserving the legacy and contributions of figures who helped shape Johor’s history and development.
Following the visit, Rikishi, whose real name is Solofa Fatu Jr, shared his experience on Instagram, describing the tour as both meaningful and inspiring.
“I had the opportunity to visit Muzium Tokoh Johor, and it was truly an inspiring experience,” he wrote.
Rikishi, a member of the famous Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, said walking through the museum was a powerful reminder that every great legacy begins with vision, sacrifice and service.
“As someone who believes deeply in family, legacy and giving back to the community, this visit meant a lot to me,” he added.
He thanked the museum staff for preserving the stories of Johor’s distinguished personalities and sharing their legacy with visitors from around the world.
Ending his post with a message to Malaysians, Rikishi wrote: “Salam kasih sayang dan hormat buat seluruh rakyat Malaysia,” before adding: “Respect the past. Build the future. Leave a legacy.”
Chavo, a member of the legendary Guerrero wrestling family, also joined the visit, although he did not publicly comment on the museum tour.
Yayasan Warisan Johor expressed its honour in welcoming Rikishi and Chavo, calling their visit a meaningful occasion for the institution.
The foundation also invited the public to join guided tours of the museum by submitting applications via email or by visiting the Muzium Tokoh Johor ticket counter for further information.
