PM Anwar congratulates Nur Jazlan on reappointment as deputy senate president

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) today congratulated Senator Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed on his reappointment as senator and Deputy Senate President for a second term.

He also congratulated Musoddak Ahmad on his reappointment as senator.

"I would like to begin by congratulating the Deputy President and the Honourable Member of the Dewan Negara for their reappointments,” he said before the start of Question Time at the Dewan Negara sitting.

Earlier, Nur Jazlan and Musoddak took their oath of office before Senate President Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

On a lighter note, Anwar also joked that he is an ardent supporter of Spain, which won the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0.

"I am also a devoted Spain supporter,” he said.

Spain lifted the World Cup trophy for a second time after Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 106th minute of the final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

Argentina finished the match with 10 men after Enzo Fernández was sent off. - Bernama
