New Johor exco line-up expected to be sworn in today

JOHOR BARU: The new Johor executive council line-up is expected to be officially sworn in on Saturday (July 18) morning.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi’s vehicle was seen entering the gates of Istana Bukit Serene here at 10.20am.

The swearing-in ceremony is set to take place before Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim to mark the beginning of Onn Hafiz’s second term helming the state administration as Menteri Besar.

Among those seen entering the palace gates is Paloh assemblyman Lee Ting Han, who is the former state investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman.

It is believed that the upcoming state exco line-up will be a mix of new and old faces.

Media members have started gathering outside the palace from 9.30am for the occasion.

During the 16th Johor state election held on July 11, Onn Hafiz led Barisan Nasional to a stunning victory by bagging 48 out of the 56 seats contested.

He was sworn in as Menteri Besar for his second term on the following day.

In the days leading up to the exco swearing-in ceremony, there have been speculations about who would be on the list, with several unverified lists being circulated online.
