JOHOR BARU: Malaysian football fans are divided ahead of the FIFA World Cup final, with many predicting a thrilling showdown between defending champions Argentina and an exciting Spain that has impressed throughout the tournament.

While Argentina is bidding to retain the title it won four years ago, many fans believe Spain’s youthful squad, fearless style of play and attacking flair could propel the team to world football’s biggest prize.

“I see Spain as the underdogs, which means they can play with less pressure than Argentina,” he said.

“They have a strong midfield and hungry wingers that could be the key to winning their second World Cup.”

“Reaching another final gives Argentina plenty of confidence. The pressure will be there, but even with their three previous triumphs, I believe that Argentina is still hungry for more success,” she said.
