Sungai Perak R&R to close temporarily tomorrow after monkey menace

IPOH: The Sungai Perak Rest and Service Area (R&R) northbound on the North-South Expressway will be temporarily closed on Tuesday (July 14) to facilitate an operation to address disturbances caused by wild monkeys.

In a notice, PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) said the operation would be carried out in collaboration with the Sungai Siput Department of Wildlife and National Parks.

The operation is scheduled to take place from 2.30pm to 5pm.

PLUS said the temporary closure would include the petrol station at the R&R to ensure the safety of highway users and personnel involved, as well as to facilitate the smooth running of the operation.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys in advance and use nearby rest and service areas or lay-bys as alternative stopping points during the closure.

PLUS thanked highway users for their cooperation and understanding.
