KUALA LUMPUR: Despite finally being cleared of his six-year legal battle, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Muda-Muar) has valiantly maintained his perfect Dewan Rakyat attendance record after arriving in Parliament on Monday (July 13).
Syed Saddiq was spotted entering the Dewan Rakyat by noon, just hours after being cleared of any wrongdoing by the Federal Court in Putrajaya in a two-to-one majority decision.
He expressed his determination to fulfil his duty as a Member of Parliament. He said he was looking forward to taking part in the debate on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill for the separation of roles between the Attorney General and the Public Prosecutor.
"I am one of the bipartisan committee members who proposed this constitutional amendment to ensure that the Attorney General's office is free from political interference.
"As such, I have to fulfil my responsibility as a Member of Parliament, but the Bill was postponed.
"Regardless, I still look forward to debating the bill later," he told reporters at Parliament, after arriving before the Dewan Rakyat adjourned for its lunch break.
Syed Saddiq's arrival in Parliament was also greeted warmly by other MPs, including Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who was seen hugging him outside the Dewan Rakyat.
The Federal Court's decision affirmed the previous June 25, 2025, ruling of the Court of Appeal, freeing him of four charges involving criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of property and money laundering.
