JOHOR BARU: All preparations for nomination day have been completed ahead of the big day, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
The caretaker Johor Mentri Besar said all necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the nomination process runs smoothly across all 56 state seats.
"God willing, we have made all the necessary preparations in an orderly and thorough manner.
"We pray that the nomination process in all 56 state constituencies will proceed well and smoothly," he told reporters when met after officiating Phase Four of the Perumahan Kasih Johor initiative at the Austin International Convention Centre here on Friday (June 26).
Onn Hafiz, who will be defending his Machap seat, said this when asked about preparations for nomination day for the Johor election.
Also present at the event was caretaker Johor housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor.

When asked whether he was confident of retaining the Machap seat, Onn Hafiz said he was leaving the matter to the voters.
"We pray and hope that the people of Machap will give me the mandate to continue serving them, God willing," he said.
Earlier in their speeches, both Onn Hafiz and Mohd Jafni could be seen trying to hold back their tears as they outlined the state government's achievements since taking office in 2022.
Mohd Jafni said among the achievements they had fulfilled was the creation of more than 21,000 affordable homes over the last four years.
"We have built a total of 21,412 affordable homes as of the first quarter of this year, and we have 8,588 more homes to complete by the end of this year," he said.
Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz also announced an allocation of RM20.75mil for the fourth phase of Perumahan Kasih Johor.
The initiative includes RM5,000 for first-time home purchases, RM2,000 for those moving into their first home, and RM2,500 in rental assistance.
