Pakatan not underestimating new parties, to focus on people's agenda, says Fahmi

KOTA BARU: Pakatan Harapan will not underestimate several new political parties such as Parti Wawasan Negara and Parti Bersama Malaysia, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The Pakatan communications director said the coalition's machinery would instead intensify efforts to engage with the people and address their problems more effectively.

"For example, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh resolved the 44-year wait of Rumah Panjang Bukit Kiara residents to obtain new housing.

"So, when choosing leaders, we must choose those who are clean, good and who think about the future of the country," he said after the presentation of appointment letters to the chairmen of the national information dissemination centre advisory panels for Kelantan here on Tuesday (June 16).

Asked about Pakatan's preparations for the Johor polls, Fahmi, who is also PKR information chief, said the screening process for potential candidates is ongoing and the names will be announced once approved by the party leadership.

The Election Commission has set July 11 as polling day for the Johor Election, with June 27 as nomination day and July 7 for early voting. – Bernama
