
IPOH: Datuk Seri M. Saravanan emphasises STEM education's critical role for Malaysia's future during a launch at SJK (T) Tapah.
“STEM plays a vital role in developing critical life skills such as analytical thinking, problem solving and teamwork. These are competencies that are highly valuable across all career paths,” he said in a statement on Monday (June 15).
Saravanan states STEM is essential for national innovation and economic strength. He urges a shift in defining academic excellence to encourage independent thinking.
He highlights the need for teachers to foster curiosity beyond standard textbooks.
“STEM is a foundational exercise in mental fitness from day one, giving the next generation the grit, cognitive agility, and problem-solving power required to lead a fast-moving, highly complex digital economy,” he added.
