Heavy rain, thunderstorms in nine states, KL until 6pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds for Kuala Lumpur and nine states until 6pm on Monday (June 15).

The department’s statement said that apart from Perlis, the adverse weather conditions are also expected to hit Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar and Pokok Sena); Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang and Dungun); and Pahang (Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Bera and Rompin).

Similar weather conditions are also expected in Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat); Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin); and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian and Kulai).

In Sarawak, the areas predicted to be affected are Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu), Miri (Subis and Marudi) and Limbang.

In Sabah, warnings have been issued for the Interior (Keningau and Tambunan), the West Coast, Tawau (Tawau, Kunak and Lahad Datu) and Sandakan (Sandakan). - Bernama
