JOHOR leaders have paid tribute to His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, for his people-centric leadership and unwavering commitment to the rakyat’s well-being.
They said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong’s emphasis on discipline, unity and responsibility continues to inspire and shape their approach in serving the public and developing the state.
Johor housing and local government committee chairman Datuk Mohd Jafni Md Shukor described Sultan Ibrahim as a humble Ruler who remains close to the people’s hearts despite holding the nation’s highest position.
“One of the things I admire most about Sultan Ibrahim is the genuine concern His Majesty shows for the rakyat and state’s well-being whenever we meet him.
“His Majesty will personally ask about the current situation in the state and the welfare of the people.
“I also remember His Majesty reminding leaders to always uphold the trust placed in them, work sincerely and never distance themselves from the rakyat, as the true strength of leadership comes from the people’s trust,” he said.
Mohd Jafni added that Sultan Ibrahim’s leadership has also taught state leaders the importance of unity, stability and mutual respect in building a progressive and harmonious nation.
Johor agriculture, agro-based industry and rural committee chairman Datuk Zahari Sarip said Sultan Ibrahim’s leadership continues to inspire state leaders through His Majesty’s strong sense of discipline, firm principles and concern for the rakyat.
“I have always admired His Majesty’s firmness, discipline and concern towards the people, as well as the development of the state and country.
“One of the things that has always stayed with me is His Majesty’s reminder about the importance of trust and responsibility in carrying out our duties, as well as the need to always work hard for the rakyat.
“His Majesty’s people-centric leadership and strong principles continue to inspire me in carrying out my responsibilities towards Bangsa Johor,” he said.
Zahari added that the King’s leadership and dedication to the well-being of the people continue to serve as important guidance in developing the agricultural and rural sectors in Johor.
Johor health and unity committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said Sultan Ibrahim has always reminded state leaders to uphold the spirit of Bangsa Johor and ensure that no one is left behind in the state’s development.
“Tuanku always reminds us that Johor must remain true to itself, stressing that ‘Johor mesti jadi Johor’ (Johor must be Johor).
“His Majesty wants us to always take care of the welfare of Bangsa Johor and ensure that every community is treated equally, regardless of background,” he said.
Ling added that Sultan Ibrahim consistently emphasises the importance of unity, mutual respect and harmony among the people, which His Majesty describes as the foundation of Johor’s strength and stability.
Meanwhile, Johor works, transportation, infrastructure and communications committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said Sultan Ibrahim has always stressed the importance of efficient infrastructure and public facilities for the well-being of the people.
“His Majesty consistently reminds us that development must benefit the rakyat and improve their daily lives, especially in terms of roads, public transport and basic infrastructure.
“Tuanku is also very attentive to issues affecting the people, including road conditions, flood mitigation and traffic congestion, and often emphasises the need for immediate action and long-term planning,” he said.
Mohamad Fazli added that Sultan Ibrahim’s concern for the people serves as a constant reminder for state leaders to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication.
Johor education and information committee chairman Aznan Tamin said Sultan Ibrahim has always placed great importance on education and the development of future generations in Johor.
“His Majesty consistently reminds us that education is the foundation of a strong and progressive state, and that we must continue improving the quality of learning for our children.
“Tuanku also believes that every child in Johor deserves access to proper facilities and opportunities to succeed regardless of their background.
“His Majesty’s concern and emphasis on education continue to inspire us to strengthen the state’s education system and create a better future for Bangsa Johor,” he added.
Aznan said Sultan Ibrahim’s vision and commitment towards education have played an important role in shaping various initiatives aimed at improving learning environments and opportunities for students across the state.
Johor investment, trade, consumer affairs and human resources committee chairman Lee Ting Han said that Sultan Ibrahim’s leadership has always stood out for its calm strength, sense of duty and unwavering commitment to the long-term well-being of the nation and its people.
“Having reigned through different administrations and changes of government over the years, Tuanku carries a deep institutional memory and perspective that very few possess, and this gives tremendous stability and continuity to the country.
“In my experience, Tuanku consistently reminds leaders that real progress is not built through short-term thinking, but through discipline, stability and focused execution.
“That advice has stayed with me deeply, especially in our efforts to build a stronger and more resilient Johor economy for the long-term benefit of future generations of Johoreans,” he said.
He added that Sultan Ibrahim’s emphasis on responsibility, unity and sustainable development continues to inspire many in public service.
Johor youth, sports, entrepreneur development and cooperatives committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah said Sultan Ibrahim has always led by example through His Majesty’s close relationship with the rakyat and strong commitment towards Bangsa Johor.
“Tuanku taught us that a true leader does not wait for the people to come to him, but instead must go to the ground and be with the rakyat.
“I still remember His Majesty reminding us after we were sworn in as Johor exco members to work sincerely because the rakyat are always watching and evaluating us.
“That advice and spirit continue to guide me in carrying out my responsibilities as a representative of the people,” he said.
He added that Sultan Ibrahim’s emphasis on unity, compassion and the Bangsa Johor spirit continues to inspire Johoreans from all backgrounds to live in harmony and work together for the betterment of the state.
Johor women’s family and community development committee chairman Khairin-Nisa Ismail said Sultan Ibrahim has always impressed her with His Majesty’s humility and genuine concern for the people, regardless of their background.
“His Majesty often takes the time to personally listen to the rakyat and understand the issues affecting them.
“One of the pieces of advice from His Majesty that I remember most is that there is no time for a ‘honeymoon period’ when carrying the people’s mandate, and that we must continue working hard for Bangsa Johor and the well-being of the state.
“The advice carries great meaning for me as it serves as a reminder that every responsibility entrusted to us must be carried out with commitment, sincerity and a strong sense of responsibility,” she said.
Khairin-Nisa added that Sultan Ibrahim also consistently emphasises the importance of unity, stability and togetherness in developing both the state and the nation.
Johor Islamic religious affairs committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said that Sultan Ibrahim has always highlighted the importance of strengthening Islamic institutions while promoting harmony and understanding among the people.
“His Majesty consistently reminds us that mosques and suraus should not only serve as places of worship, but also as centres for unity, knowledge and community development.
“Tuanku also always stresses the importance of carrying out our responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and compassion when serving the rakyat.
“His Majesty’s concern towards religious affairs and the well-being of the people continues to inspire us to improve the delivery of services and programmes for the community,” he said.
He added that Sultan Ibrahim’s leadership has played an important role in strengthening unity and nurturing the Bangsa Johor spirit through moderation, mutual respect and togetherness.
Johor unity, heritage and culture committee chairman K. Raven Kumar said His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim has always been a strong advocate for unity and harmony among Johoreans from all walks of life.
“His Majesty constantly reminds us that the peace and stability enjoyed in Johor today must never be taken for granted.
“Tuanku always emphasises the importance of respecting one another regardless of race or religion, and encourages us to continue strengthening the Bangsa Johor spirit.
“His Majesty also leads by example by attending programmes and celebrations involving various communities, which reflects Tuanku’s close relationship with the rakyat,” he said.
