GEORGE TOWN: A man was found dead inside a car parked along Jalan Sungai Dua here.
George Town deputy OCPD Supt Lee Swee Sake said police received an emergency call from the public at 11.47am of a man found unconscious inside a vehicle parked in front of an ice cream shop in the area.
“The deceased is a 37-year-old local man from Ayer Itam. He was found lying on the driver’s seat of a car belonging to his wife, which was locked from the inside,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Supt Lee said preliminary checks on the body and surrounding area found no elements of foul play.
“He is believed to have been dead for about five days before being discovered,” he added.
The body has been sent to the Forensic Department at Penang Hospital for a post-mortem.
The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR).
