Pahang extends quit rent payment deadline to June 30

KUANTAN: Pahang has extended the 2026 quit rent payment deadline to June 30 from May 31, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail announces.

He said the extension also includes a 10% waiver on the late payment penalty normally imposed on overdue quit rent payments.

The decision was made in view of the extended holiday period throughout May, giving the public more time and convenience to settle their payments.

"Quit rent payment is an important responsibility of every landowner, and the revenue collected enables the state government to implement development programmes, provide infrastructure, enhance public services and safeguard the welfare of the people of Pahang," he said in a statement on Monday (May 25).

Wan Rosdy also urged taxpayers to take advantage of the extension to settle their payments promptly to avoid future enforcement action.

He said the state government remains committed to ensuring efficient revenue management to safeguard Pahang's financial stability and support ongoing development initiatives for the benefit of the people. - Bernama
