PETALING JAYA: Bersatu will study the allegations made by Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang against the party before deciding on the next course of action, says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic).
The Bersatu president said he would not comment further for now on the allegations made by the PAS president.
“No comment. Will study what he said,” he said when contacted.
Muhyiddin was asked about Abdul Hadi’s statement that PAS will review its relationship with Bersatu following several disagreements within their coalition Perikatan Nasional.
Abdul Hadi had alleged that Bersatu had not been a team player within the coalition.
Bersatu information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz said the party views Abdul Hadi’s allegations seriously.
“Bersatu is of the view that every issue that arises should be examined comprehensively in the spirit of solidarity, mutual understanding and shared responsibility to strengthen Perikatan’s unity,” he said.
He added that Bersatu will review all matters raised and discuss them thoroughly during the party’s political bureau and supreme leadership meetings to be held soon.
A Bersatu state leader said it is unbecoming of the PAS top leader to publicly accuse a fellow coalition party.
“If PAS is unhappy, their leaders who sit on the Perikatan supreme council should have raised it during meetings.
“There is no need to accuse each other publicly as we are all one coalition.
“We, too, have been patient with them but we did not publicly accuse them of not being a team player,” said the Bersatu leader, who declined to be named.
Last September, Abdul Hadi had implicitly rejected Muhyiddin as Perikatan’s prime minister candidate, stating the coalition wanted someone under the age of 70.
