HONG KONG singer Charlene Choi received a diamond necklace worth 475,800 yuan (RM276,568) as a wedding gift from close friend and bandmate Gillian Chung, sparking widespread discussion online, China Press reported.

Eagle-eyed netizens identified the necklace as likely being from Harry Winston’s Sunflower collection.

Its floral design features intertwined blossoms, which many fans interpret as “twin flowers”, representing the duo’s 25-year journey in their band Twins.

In a vlog online, Chung was seen helping Choi put on the necklace during her wedding rehearsal. Speaking about Choi’s marriage, Chung said she was overcome with emotion and congratulated her bandmate for finally finding a life partner.

It was reported earlier that Choi’s diamond ring also became a subject of discussion on Chinese social media.

Internet users identified it as a two-carat diamond ring from Tiffany & Co, worth more than HK$450,000 (RM228,009).

On April 28, Choi, 43, announced that she had gotten married to personal trainer Elvis Lam, 33, much to the surprise of her fans.

Choi was previously married to singer-actor Ronald Cheng from 2006 to 2010.

> Hong Kong actor Tony Leung admitted that he enjoys spending time alone, going as far as avoiding all digital devices.

China Press reported that Leung, who was attending an event in Jiangsu, China, revealed that he treated weekends as “retreats” and would not see anyone at all.

“I find those two days very comfortable,” he said.

Leung said he would switch off his phone and avoid reading or watching TV during the weekend, choosing instead to spend the time in cherished solitude.

He added that he enjoyed the time as it is an opportunity for self-reflection.

Leung was also asked about his acting style, particularly his use of his eyes to convey emotion and meaning.

“I don’t talk much, so I have many thoughts inside.

“Maybe that’s why I prefer to express what I want to say through my eyes.

“Compared to gestures and facial expressions, I focus more on conveying what is inside my heart,” he said.

It was reported that Leung is one of Asia’s most successful and internationally recognised actors and is best known for his roles in Lust, Caution (2007) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021).
