Negri Sembilan DAP pledges support for Aminuddin, rejects 'backdoor govt'

SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan DAP has reaffirmed its support for Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and his government, saying it will reject any attempts to form a backdoor government in the state.

State chairman and Chennah assemblyman Anthony Loke said all 11 DAP assemblymen will continue to back Aminuddin's administration.

"We support the Negri Sembilan state government, which has been given the people's mandate in the 2023 state elections.

"Hence, DAP will reject any attempts to form a backdoor government in Negri Sembilan," said Loke, who is also Transport Minister and DAP secretary-general.

He added that the party would continue to support the policies of the current state government and its assemblymen will continue to serve the people.

Earlier, 14 Barisan Nasional assemblymen declared they had lost confidence in Aminuddin's leadership.

Following that, five Perikatan Nasional assemblymen also expressed their willingness to work with Barisan to ensure the continuity of the state government.
