KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 33 individuals were fined RM3,000 and sentenced to an additional 10 months' jail each by the High Court here after pleading guilty to trespassing and committing mischief at a karaoke centre in Cheras.

Kuala Lumpur OCPD Comm Datuk Fadil Marsus said the incident was reported on April 5, involving a group of individuals who trespassed into the premises before vandalising property.

He said acting on information received, police managed to detain all those involved to assist investigations.

"On April 10, a total of 33 individuals were charged under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting while armed with weapons or dangerous objects and Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief causing loss or damage," he said in a statement on Tuesday (April 21).
