PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia and Australia will hold discussions on the global energy crisis during Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's two-day official visit to Kuala Lumpur, says Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
The government spokesman said Albanese's official visit begins on Thursday (April 16) and he will have a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"The agenda for the meeting between Anwar and Albanese has not been shared with the Cabinet yet.
"Currently, two MOUs are set to be signed and I believe Anwar will raise the issue of the Strait of Hormuz," said Fahmi at a post-Cabinet briefing here on Wednesday (April 15).
On April 14, Albanese's office stated that the Australian Prime Minister was making a trip to Brunei and Malaysia from April 14 to 17 to secure supplies of fuel, fertiliser and "other critical goods" to make up the shortfall caused by the conflict in the Middle East.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong will accompany Albanese and meet with her counterparts in both countries before travelling to Singapore for further meetings.
