THE temporary road diversion along the Central Spine Road (LTU) Package 3BC project at Taman Wangi, Gua Musang, is intended for light vehicles only, according to the Public Works Department (JKR), as reported by Harian Metro.

Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail said that although the temporary road was newly paved, it is not designed to support heavy vehicles.

Despite height restriction barriers being installed to prevent heavy vehicles from using the road when it was opened on March 15, he said they had been damaged by heavy vehicles on two occasions. He explained that the temporary road was not suitable for heavy vehicles.

“Additionally, there are still utility cables that have yet to be relocated and this road is only a temporary diversion for the convenience of users, especially residents in Gua Musang,” he said.

He advised heavy vehicles to use the alternative route via Jalan Kampung Pulai Bandar Baru in Gua Musang.

Meanwhile, Gua Musang OCPD Supt Sik Choon Foo said that action had been taken against heavy vehicles using the road following damage to the height restriction barrier on March 18 and 30.
