Joint operation busts illegal frozen food syndicate in Johor


PETALING JAYA: A joint operation led by Bukit Aman has led to the bust of a syndicate involved in smuggling and distributing illegal frozen foods.

Three locations in Johor Baru were raided by the joint team on April 11, leading to the arrests of nine suspects.

Around RM168,768.46 in items were seized, including 2,630.64kg of pig carcasses and 3,888kg of chicken meat.

Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department’s Wildlife Crime Bureau (WCB) commander Senior Asst Comm Mohd Zaki Ashar confirmed the matter.

He added that authorities will continue their ongoing efforts to dismantle syndicates involved in the smuggling, distribution and sale of frozen food.
