Two nabbed in Taman Melawati for vape liquid containing MDMA

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested two local men in Taman Melawati, Ampang Jaya, for allegedly possessing and distributing vape liquid containing MDMA, a synthetic psychoactive drug.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Anuar Khalid said the first arrest was made at about 8.40pm on April 3.

“Initial checks found the suspect in possession of an electronic cigarette containing liquid believed to contain MDMA,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (April 8).

He added that further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, who is believed to be supplying the substance in the same area.

“Both suspects have been detained and the seized items confiscated for further action,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Those convicted face a fine of up to RM100,000, imprisonment of up to five years, or both.
