Two houses damaged in Taman Medan PJ fire


PETALING JAYA: Two houses have been damaged in a fire on Jalan PJS 2D/12, Taman Medan here.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said they received a call at 5.34pm on Saturday (March 28) and firefighters from the Jalan Penchala station were dispatched to the scene about 7km away.

Teams from the Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya fire stations provided additional assistance.

"The first fire engine arrived at 5.42pm. The fire involved two double-storey terrace houses.

"One of the houses was about 80% destroyed, while the second house sustained around 50% damage," he said in a statement on Saturday (March 28).

He added that no casualties were reported.

Firefighters are still carrying out extinguishing works at the scene and the situation is being monitored closely.
