Johor cops issue 32 summonses for illegal racing, reckless driving


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police issued 32 summonses for various offences under Operasi Samseng Jalanan held along Lebuh Medini Utama here early on Sunday (March 22).

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M Kumarasan said the location was identified as an area with a group of cars conducting dangerous activities such as illegal racing and dangerous driving.

"In the operation, 45 cars were inspected, involving 63 men and 14 women, aged 18 to 50.

"Offences include modifying the car, including the exhaust, the use of number plates that do not follow specifications, and other offences under the regulations set by the Road Transport Department," he said in a statement here on Sunday.

He stressed that the police would not compromise with any individual involved in such illegal activities, as it endangers themselves and other motorists. - Bernama
