BINTULU: Two teenage boys are feared drowned while bathing at a waterfall in Kidurong on Saturday (March 21).

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said, in a statement, that it had received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.22pm Saturday (March 21), which had occurred at Sungai Plan Lot Waterfall.

According to initial information from the operation commander, the two victims — identified as Pryston Mari and Daren Dakun, both aged 13 — were at the location with two friends, a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl.

"All four were said to have been bathing in the waterfall area at around 2pm before the two victims were last seen at approximately 2.30pm," it added.

They were subsequently reported missing and are suspected to have drowned.

Following the report, the Fire and Rescue Department launched a search and rescue (SAR) operation at the scene.

A "water surface" search operation is currently being carried out to locate the missing victims. As at press time, both teenagers have yet to be found, and search efforts are ongoing.
