Baby among three killed as motorcycle crashes into car in Hulu Selangor


KUALA LUMPUR: Three people, including a seven-month-old baby boy, have been killed in a two-vehicle collision on Jalan Bunga Kertas, Bukit Sentosa in Hulu Selangor.

Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Ibrahim Husin said preliminary investigations found that the accident occurred at about 9am on Thursday (March 12) when a car turning right at the junction and failed to avoid a motorcycle, which grazed the left of the car.

"The 25-year-old motorcyclist, a salesman, and an 88-year-old female passenger in the car were confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement on Thursday.

He said the baby boy, who was being held by a passenger in the car's rear seat, suffered severe injuries and was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital, where he died at about 11am.

Ibrahim said the male car driver and a woman seated in the front seat, both aged 60, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Investigations are ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
