Federal Government urged to initiate partial payments for Sabah's 40% revenue entitlement

KOTA KINABALU: The Federal Government has been called to begin partial payments related to Sabah's 40% revenue entitlement while formal negotiations are underway to finalise the mechanism and calculation formula.

“A more convincing step would be to initiate partial payments based on existing financial capacity, while finalising the actual amount through negotiations,” said Chief Political Secretary to the Sabah Chief Minister, Azrul Ibrahim on social media on Sunday (March 8).

Azrul urged that demonstrating commitment through action is essential to avoid increasing local anxiety regarding this long-standing issue.
