'Less sweet, please,' Sultan Nazrin reminds Ramadan bazaar traders


KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah called on traders at the Kuala Kangsar Arena Ramadan Bazaar here to reduce sugar in their food items.

His Highness dispensed the advice when browsing through stalls selling sweet foods such as chocolate-flavoured donuts when he visited the Ramadan Bazaar on Saturday (Feb 28) evening.

Also joining the visit was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.

Their arrival at 5.17pm was received by Kuala Kangsar district officer Azrul Sani Ibrahim and Kuala Kangsar OCPD Asst Comm Heisham Harun.

The royal couple then spent about 20mins greeting traders and visitors at the bazaar.

Visitors also took the opportunity to take pictures and selfies with the Sultan and Raja Permaisuri.

Sultan Nazrin also took the opportunity to purchase some iftar food including kueh ketayap, curry puffs and apam balik before heading home at about 5.40pm.- Bernama
