Woman accused of stabbing mother ordered to undergo mental evaluation


SEREMBAN: A woman believed to have stabbed her mother in the neck with a tin opener in Kampung Segineh Inas, Johol in Negri Sembilan last Friday (Feb 20), has been ordered to undergo a mental health examination and evaluation.

Kuala Pilah OCPD Supt Muhamad Mustafah Hussin said the order for the 55-year-old woman to be sent to Hospital Permai Johor Baru (Hospital Tampoi), Johor was issued by judge Hazeelia Muhammad at the Kuala Pilah Sessions Court on Thursday.

"The public is advised not to make any speculations that could interfere with the progress of the case," he said in a statement here on Thursday.

The court has fixed April 2 for mention of the case, pending the evaluation report. - Bernama
