Nine more reports lodged over video of alleged child abuse at care centre


SHAH ALAM: Nine more police reports have been filed against a childcare centre that is currently under fire for alleged child abuse.

When contacted on Friday (Jan 23), Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Ramsay Embol said that no arrests have been made so far.

The founder of the childcare centre and the branch owner have also been called in for statements.

"Investigations are still underway to determine if the centre had a licence to care for autistic children," he said.

A video of a child, believed to be autistic, locked inside a storeroom at the centre was circulated online, leading to mass condemnation from social media users.

It was reported on Thursday (Jan 22) that police had received three reports against the centre.

ACP Ramsay also said police had recorded a statement from social media influencer Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, regarding the video.
