JOHOR BARU: Johor and Singapore have reaffirmed bilateral ties following a meeting between the state's Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the island republic's Home Minister K. Shanmugam here.
Onn Hafiz said he was honoured to receive the courtesy visit from Shanmugam, who is also the city-state’s Coordinating Minister for National Security, at the Mentri Besar’s official residence in Saujana.
"The discussions focused on matters of mutual interest, including the importance of regional stability, security and effective governance as a strong foundation for economic growth and investor confidence.
"May the mutual understanding forged through this meeting continue to strengthen Johor–Singapore relations as strategic regional partners, in ensuring a more advanced, stable and competitive future for Johor towards 2030," he said in a statement on Facebook on Monday (Jan 19).
