Two teenagers found dead in car in Sandakan

SANDAKAN: Two teenagers were found dead inside a parked car at Bandar Sejati Walk in Sandakan on Sunday (Jan 11) morning, with police ruling out foul play at this stage.

Sandakan district police said they received information from the public at 8.26am regarding the discovery of two bodies inside a vehicle at the parking area in Bandar Sejati Walk, Batu 7.

Deputy Sandakan police chief Supt Ramasamy Kuppan said initial checks identified the victims as an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl, believed to be in a relationship.

He said a team of officers, together with the Sabah police contingent’s forensic unit, was dispatched to the scene and found both victims seated at the rear passenger area of the vehicle.

“All the car windows were fully closed and locked, and no loss of valuables was reported,” he said in a statement today.

According to Supt Ramasamy, preliminary investigations found that both victims had been uncontactable by their families since Friday.

The vehicle was later located by the father of one of the victims, who then discovered the two inside.

“Initial examination of the bodies found no signs of injury, and so far, police have not detected any elements of crime or foul play,” he said.

The bodies were sent to the forensic department at Hospital Duchess of Kent Sandakan for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing.

Police advised the public not to speculate on the case and to allow investigations to be carried out thoroughly.
