Four injured in two-vehicle crash near Titiwangsa Range


KOTA BARU: Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision on the road after the Titiwangsa Range towards Jeli, Kelantan, earlier on Sunday (Jan 11).

Jeli Fire and Rescue Station chief Azhar Elmi Mustofar said the station received an emergency call at 12.01pm and sent a team to the scene, 48km away.

"On arrival at 12.52pm, the operations commander conducted an initial assessment and confirmed the collision involving two vehicles and four victims.

"One victim was found pinned in the driver's seat and was extricated by the fire department. Three other injured victims had been helped out of their vehicles by members of the public before our arrival," he said when contacted the same day.

He said that the victims included a 43-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman in a sedan, and a 28-year-old man and an unidentified individual in a pickup truck.

Azhar Elmi also said all victims were sent to Gerik Hospital for further treatment by rescuers.

"The operation concluded at 1.48pm and involved 17 personnel from the Jeli and Gerik stations, along with six armed forces members," he added. - Bernama
