Kinabatangan, Lamag by-elections: Campaigning kicks off as EC confirms nominations


PETALING JAYA: The Election Commission has received a total of three nomination papers for the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat and two nomination papers for the Lamag state seat.

Returning officer Eddy Syaizul Rizam Abdullah said for Kinabatangan, the candidates are Barisan Nasional's Naim Kurniawan Bung, Warisan's Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman and Independent Goldam Hamid, a lawyer.

For the Lamag state seat, the candidates are Barisan’s Mohd Ismail Ayob @ Miha and Warisan’s Mazliwati Abdul Malek Chua. No nominations were rejected.

With that, the campaign period for both seats has kicked off and will end at 11.59pm, Jan 23, to make way for polling day on Jan 24.
