Kinabatangan, Lamag by-elections: Temporary road closures around nomination centre

KINABATANGAN: Access roads to the Dewan Sri Lamag nomination centre were temporarily closed from 7am Saturday (Jan 10) to manage traffic for the Kinabatangan parliamentary and Lamag state by-election nominations.

The closure affects Jalan Dato Pengiran Galpam, stretching from the Syariah Court to the Simpang 3 junction heading towards Jalan Dato Malek Chua.

A Bernama survey noted fine weather and observed that supporters had begun arriving at the centre as early as 6.30am.

The by-elections are being held following the death of the incumbent, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, 66, on Dec 5, 2025.

The Election Commission has set a 14-day campaign period, with polling on Jan 24 and early voting on Jan 20. - Bernama
