Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected in six Johor districts

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across six districts in Johor, effective until 3pm on Wednesday (Jan 7).

MetMalaysia, in a statement at 12.30pm, said the severe weather is expected to affect Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.

MetMalaysia issues these warnings when there are signs indicating a thunderstorm with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour that is imminent or expected to occur for more than one hour.
