Special window for 2025 foreign worker quota applications opens Jan 19

PETALING JAYA: Employers can apply for foreign worker employment quotas for 2025 during a special window from Jan 19 to March 31 next year, the Home Ministry has announced.

Applications will also continue to be accepted until the previously announced deadline of Dec 31.

"The special application period will cover all sectors and sub-sectors approved by the government on Oct 1, subject to the stipulated eligibility criteria. This includes applications for the services sector under the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, which had previously been closed due to quota constraints," the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 30).

All applications received between Jan 19 and March 31 will be discussed with the relevant supervising ministries for consideration and will remain subject to existing conditions governing the employment of foreign workers.

The ministry reminded employers to submit applications directly, without the use of agents or third parties, through the Foreign Workers Management One-Stop Centre.

To facilitate the process during the special window, employers are required to make appointments in advance via the ministry’s official website, starting Jan 16.

The special window aims to help employers submit foreign worker applications in a more orderly and planned manner, in line with the government’s commitment to meeting industry needs and improving service delivery.

Further details are available on the ministry's official website.
