Two youths die in three-car crash on Senai-Desaru Expressway


JOHOR BARU: Two youths were killed and five others injured in a three-vehicle accident along the Senai-Desaru Expressway.

Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Nazarudin Yusof said the crash, which occurred at KM45.6 of the expressway, was reported at 5.37am on Saturday (Dec 27).

“Three cars were involved in the accident.

“Upon arrival, we found two of the victims were trapped in their respective vehicles and firemen used special rescue equipment to extricate them,” he said in a statement.

He added that the trapped victims, a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Also in one of the cars were a 14-year-old girl, who was injured and unconscious, and two adult men who sustained injuries.

“Another man and a woman were also injured in the crash,” said Nazarudin.

Police investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
