Motorcyclist killed in crash on Senai-Desaru Expressway


KOTA TINGGI: A motorcyclist has been killed on the spot after an accident with a car on the Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE).

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the incident took place at KM62.3 of the SDE at 4.30pm on Monday (May 18).

"The motorcycle was ridden by a 42-year-old man and the car driven by a 35-year-old man," he said in a statement on Monday.

Supt Yusof said the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the car driver had a minor injury in his right arm.

"The body of the deceased has been handed over to the Kota Tinggi Hospital for a post-mortem examination," he said, adding the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
