Security guard nabbed for allegedly beating wife in Tawau


KOTA KINABALU: A migrant security guard has been arrested for allegedly beating his wife in Tawau.

The 45-year-old allegedly beat his wife during an argument at their house in Bukit Quoin, causing injuries to her arms and legs on Friday (Dec 19).

Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said based on a report from the victim, a housewife in her 40s, she needed protection from further abuse and decided to press charges.

“She came to the police station to lodge a report and ask for protection, saying her husband hit her during an argument that stemmed from a misunderstanding,” he said in a statement Saturday (Dec 20).

Following the report, the man was arrested and is being investigated for domestic violence and voluntarily causing hurt, he said.
