Immigration Dept nabs 46 Bangladeshi men in Nilai


SEREMBAN: The Immigration Department has detained 46 illegal immigrants for various immigration-related offences during an operation at a factory in Nilai on Wednesday (Dec 17) night.

Seremban Immigration director Kennith Tan Ai Kiang said those detained during the four-hour operation, which began at 9am, were Bangladeshi men aged between 18 and 43.

The operation was conducted following public complaints, and the immigrants were detained for offences which included not having valid passes and travel documents, as well as overstaying, he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 18).

All the detainees were taken to the Lenggeng Immigration Depot for further action. – Bernama
