Cabinet reshuffle: Several existing ministers retained for continuity, to drive economic growth, says PM

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday (Dec 16) retained several existing ministers in the Madani Government Cabinet to ensure team continuity in driving economic growth and addressing the people's issues.

Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof each retained their portfolios as Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, respectively.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan was also retained, while Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil remains at the helm of the Ministry of Communications in this Cabinet lineup, along with his deputy Teo Nie Ching.

Also retained are the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and her deputy M. Kulasegaran.

The Ministry of Transport portfolio is still held by Anthony Loke, along with his deputy Datuk Hasbi Habibulloh, while Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu retains the portfolio of Minister of Agriculture and Food Security.

Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Education Fadhlina Sidek, and Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir also retained their positions in the Madani Government Cabinet.

Also retained are Defence Minister Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, and Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Alexander Nanta Linggi.

The other retained ministers and deputy ministers are as follows:

  • Housing and Local Government: Nga Kor Ming
  • Science Technology and Innovation: Chang Lih Kang
  • Women, Family and Community Development: Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri
  • National Unity: Datuk Aaron Agong Dagang
  • Domestic Trade and Cost of Living: Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali
  • Digital: Gobind Singh Deo
  • Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development: Datuk Rubiah Wang
  • Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government: Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu
  • Deputy Minister of Home Affairs: Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah
  • Deputy Defence Minister: Adly Zahari
  • Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation: Datuk Dr Yusof Apdal
  • Deputy Minister of Education: Wong Kah Woh
  • Deputy Minister Domestic Trade and Cost of Living: Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh
  • Deputy Minister Digital: Datuk Wilson Ugak
