KUALA LUMPUR: A man was killed near Jalan Istana after a car accidentally crashed into his bike.

In a statement on Sunday (Dec 14), Kuala Lumpur traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said that the fatal accident occurred this morning.

Investigations showed that the victim, a 44-year-old Myanmar national, had changed lanes from the right side of the road, before a car driven by a 22-year-old man crashed into him after failing to avoid him in time.

"The motorcyclist was found to have no valid driving license. Following the collision, the victim suffered serious head and body injuries.

"He was then pronounced dead at the scene," said ACP Mohd Zamzuri.

The police are also tracing the vehicle's owner to assist in investigations.
