Boy, 15, held over death threats to schoolmate

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of making death threats to a schoolmate in Gombak here.

Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said the teenager was arrested on Wednesday (Dec 10) after a police report was lodged by the father of the 14-year-old victim.

ACP Noor Ariffin said investigations found that the Form Three student had made a video call to the victim asking for money and was believed to have made death threats by brandishing a parang.

"The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code (for criminal intimidation)," he said in a statement on Thursday (Dec 11), adding that the 15-year-old was released on police bail earlier in the day. – Bernama
