Flood victims in Perak decrease, another PPS closed


IPOH: The flood situation in Perak is showing signs of recovery with the number of victims at relief centres (PPS) continuing to decline.

According to the Perak Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, as of this evening, 202 victims from 62 families are still at four PPS in two districts, a decrease compared to 411 victims from 122 families this morning.

A PPS at the Bagan Datuk Youth and Sports Community Hall, which previously housed 142 victims from 45 families, was closed at 4pm on Tuesday (Dec 9).

Currently, only four PPS are still operating, two each in the Hilir Perak and Manjung districts.

In Hilir Perak, the PPS are at the Kampung Padang Tembak Multipurpose Hall and the Hilir Perak IPD Multipurpose Hall, while in Manjung, they are at Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Padang Serai and SK Kayan, Lekir. - Bernama
