Unemployed man remanded over murder of senior citizen in Manjung


IPOH: A man in his 40s has been remanded for seven days until Dec 9 over the murder of a senior citizen in Kampung Koh, Manjung.

Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the remand order on the suspect, who is in his 40s, was issued by Magistrate Fakhrul Razzi Abd Hamid at the Seri Manjung Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Dec 3).

It is understood that the suspect, an unemployed man, was arrested by police at Jalan Pinang Raja, Seri Manjung yesterday.

The 78-year-old victim, believed to have been killed with a hoe, was found in a pool of blood in a house in Kampung Koh on Nov 30 by family members.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
