Melaka Budget 2026 will be comprehensive, for all citizens, says Chief Minister

MELAKA: Every segment of society in the state can expect benefits in the Melaka Budget 2026, says Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

The Melaka Chief Minister announced that the budget would be presented on Friday (Dec 5).

"This will be a budget for everyone,” he said after launching a creative corner at the Melaka International College of Science and Technology (Micost) in Jalan Hang Tuah here on Wednesday (Dec 3)

Earlier, Melaka Financial Officer Datuk Salhah Salleh said preparations for the budget began in March.

"Based on the initial overview, no community will be left out, and each group will have something provided for by the state government.

"The Melaka Budget 2026 will revolve around the economy, the well-being of the people and improvements in public service,” she said.

During a separate event at the Urban Transformation Centre here, Ab Rauf revealed that according to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), out of 351,008 registered businesses in Melaka, only 63,119 remain active.

"Hence, we decided to launch the state’s One-Stop Entrepreneur Centre here, where the centre places multiple agencies under one roof," he said.

Ab Rauf said the new centre was equipped with digital training facilities, a creative studio and an innovation lab. Ten agencies, including SSM, SME Corp, MARA, Melaka Finance House, and local authorities responsible for licensing and business premises, would also be located at the centre.

Ab Rauf added that the state government has also channelled RM1.2mil through more than 15 strategic programmes, up to Nov 30, covering training, financing, technical guidance, and digitalisation support.
