Continuous rain expected in several states from Dec 5 to 8, MetMalaysia reports


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for several states in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as parts of Sarawak and Sabah, expected to occur from Friday (Dec 5) to Monday.

MetMalaysia director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said continuous rain is forecast in Sabah, specifically in Sandakan (covering Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat, from Friday to Saturday.

He said a similar warning has been issued for Dec 6 to 7 for Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Bachok and Pasir Puteh), Terengganu, and parts of Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).

"From Sunday to Monday, continuous rain is forecast in several districts in Johor (Segamat, Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru), as well as in Sarawak, covering Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei (Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah and Bintulu," he said, in a statement on Wednesday.
